Illamasqua Paranormal Palette Review

Hello Lovelies. Illamasqua recently brought out a new collection called paranormal, There is a huge selection of amazing new products and colours, I want everything but I'm saving for imats so was only able to get the new paranormal palette. This palette is quite strange but has the most amazing neon colours in it but can create a very natural look if you want!

What do illamasqua say about this palette?
This unique water-resistant eye shadow can't quite decide if it's a cream or powder. Instead it combines the best of both worlds, delivering the textured silky appearance of a powder, but with the deep colour wash of a cream.

With a long-lasting hold, each shadow's silky texture allows for effortless application and blending. Choose from Paranormal (vivid cerise), Aura (warm copper), Trance (soft violet) or Possession (cool green)."

Packaging?
I personally love the packaging! It's Illamasqua signature weird curved square with the logo in the center. It's easy to open and close and has a big mirror on the top part that will stay standing if you want it too.

Colour/Pigmentation?
The colours in this palette look very bright but they are great for creating a natural look or for creating a wash of colour. People would usually stay clear of these shades but they complement each other more than you might think. The pigmentation like all illamasqua eyeshadows is amazing and true to colour.

Texture?
The Illamasqua paranormal palette eyeshadows have a very strange texture. They're not a cream nor a powder, they're a mixture. They feel very smooth and apply to the lids like a dream, they blend very easily and don't tend to crease.

What I Like?
These eyeshadows are very different from anything I have ever tried and I love them a lot. They're water resistant and last without a primer on the eyes. I like the packaging as it looks very very expensive.

What I dont like?
There is not much that I dont like except that I think they should bring out more colours! The price tag could be something people don't like as this palette does retail for £34.

Have you tried this palette yet? Would you like to try it?

Illamasqua Apocalips Lipstick Review

Hello there my lovelies. I have a review today and it's on a lipstick I have promised a review on for a long time. It's a review on the Illamasqua Apocalips lipstick, now it's no secret that I LOVE Illamasqua and love their lipsticks- this colour is not one for the faint hearted but if you're brave enough to wear it, it's gorgeous.

So what do Illamasqua say about this lipstick?
They say its a teal colour with a matte finish!
Let your lips speak volumes. Indulge in colour-intense lipstick with a highly pigmented formula, available in a choice of flawless finishes, from creamy matt to iridescent finishes. Illamasqua Lipstick glides on smoothly and doesn't give up without a fight for the perfect all-night pout. A must have for professional make-up artists, and those who want to make a statement.

Packaging? I love the packaging a lot for Illamasqua lipsticks. The packaging is simple, sleek and easy to store in my kit. It has the signature Illamasqua logo on the top as well.

Colour/Pigmentation? The colour of this lipstick is just fab- It's a pure teal! It's a great bold lip if you're brave enough to wear it. It's very pigmented and goes on the lips easily with a lip brush.

Finish? It's a matte finish but it's not really really drying, but I would recommend moisturising the lips before applying this lipstick. I would also say exfoliating the lips would make the lipstick look a lot better.

(Photographer - Fiona Brims, Model- Kerry Nixon, Hair- Andrew James, Makeup- Me)

How long does it last? Well it lasts a long time on the lips, my model Kerry had it on for a few hours in the studio in hot lights and she still had it on when she left.

The Good? This lipstick in general is amazing! It's pigmented, it lasts along time and the packaging is wonderful. It's also a great alternative to the plain old red lipstick.

The not so good? This lipstick can be a little drying but is easily sorted by applying lip balm

How much is it? This lipstick retails for £16.50

Do you like the strange coloured lips or do you perfere to stick to what you know?

My Illamasqua Lipstick Collection

Hi there my Lovelies. Today I have decided to do a post I have been meaning to do for a while. It's going to be my Illamasqua lipstick collection. I actually only had 2 until Easter when my collection started to grow, lets make a long story short, I now have 8 illamasqua lipsticks. illamasqua products are my favorite the brand is unique and the products beet anything else I have tried, If I need something new for my kit I will go to illamasqua to get it. There lipsticks are fab so lets have a look at the ones I own.

So first off I love the packaging, Its sleek and very easy to store which is grate me being a makeup artist. I have a mixture of shades and some of them you may think are weard but being in the makeup industry you never know what kind of colour you may need.

So as you can tell my lipsticks are a little bit mingled  that's for hygiene reasons as these lipsticks are part of my kit I have to scrape them with a spachala and then use a lip brush.

from left to right
Pristine - This is really just a matte black £16.50
Disciple - This is a matte navie blue. it looks quite black in the tube but when applied its more blue£16.50
Apocallps - This is a really pretty teal lipstick again its matte. its really pretty and i'm planning on doing a post just on this lippy £16.50
Fetish - this is a new lipstick of mine so I have not yet used it but its purple and I love purple. and again its matte. £16.50
Sangers - this is a matte pure vintage red. its beautiful! £16.50
Atomic - This is a matte reddie toned pink. it really pretty on the lips £16.50
Immodest - is a really bright matte pink, reminds me a little of candy yum yum. £16.50
Sonnet - this is a nude pink but it has quite a bit of a orange undertone to it. its a beautiful colour for brides £16.50

and that is the swatches. these are all beautiful and I will be showing you on the lips in individuality reviews. If you have any requests on the lipsticks you want to see individual reviews on please let me know in the comment section below.

* I dont pay full price for my illamasqua lipsticks as I have bought them in sales or I do get 40% off all illamasqua products.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

50 Day Spending Ban | Week 2

Hello my lovelies. its now been 16 days since I started my spending ban. I think its going pretty well actully, I have bought a few items that I needed for shoots but not much and when buying the items I have found that bargains are pretty easily found.

So this week I had to buy a blue wig for a shoot but it has not arrived yet, some eyelashes as i'm running out, a pack of head bands for a shoot on Saturday and a powder highlighter.

Total spent - £ 13.61
on my wishlist - Kryolan palettes and crown brushes again and Illamasqua new collection

so the good thing is the makeup forever flash palette is no longer on my list, I was at the Edinburgh Collage of Art last week doing makeup for the costume show and I was speeking to some other makeup artists and they all use Kryolan so I changed my mind and i'm getting kryolan instead of makeup forever.

this week maybe a bit more expensive as I have to book my bus to glasgow for a shoot next week and I may not be able to control myself with face on magazine eeeee. But I promise I will wait till london to get the stuff on my wishlist.

good luck everyone on a spending ban and I hope to see lots of you at imats this year.
