September Favourites

Hayya Lovely's. Today I thought I would do a September Favourites. I can't believe tomorrow is October, this year is going so fast - it feels like just yesterday I started my blog but I have been doing this for 6 months now. Anyway I'm just excited as it's almost Christmas, well not really, it's like 2 months or something away. What do you all want for Christmas?

Lets get on with my favourites!

- MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15: This foundation is the bomb, it gives wonderful coverage and feels nice on the skin. It's also not too expensive which is great. I will be swapping back to my NARS Sheer Matte foundation for the winter but just because this foundation is a little dark for me around that time. You can find this foundation in MAC counters free standing stores or online.

- MAC Studio Fix Powder NC15: This powder can be built up to full coverage as it's classed as a foundation. I use it sheer to set my Studio Fix Fluid or if I need extra coverage, I will build it up in that area. Again, this Powder can be found in any MAC counter/free standing store or online

- Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet Tease eyeshadow: I have been using Tease eyeshadow every single day to contour my face, I find that it works better than any bronzer I have used as it's more cool toned as it looks more like a shadow. You can find this online or in any Urban Decay counter

- MAC Fleet Fast Blush: I have been using this blush almost every single day since I've bought it and it still has no dent in it. It's the perfect everyday shade as you can use a light hand or build it up. This blush was limited edition so it's no longer available

- MAC eyeshadows in Expensive Pink, Coppering and Sketch: These colours are perfect for the autumn season. I have been wearing them together most days. All three are available in any MAC counter/free standing store or online.

-Inglot eyeshadow Matte 378: I use this colour everyday as a transition colour in my crease. It looks beautiful with colours built on top and when it's by itself. You will find this in any Inglot store or online

-MAC lipstick Up The Amp: This is my go-to lip colour at the moment as I just love purples and this one can be toned down for an everyday look. Available at any MAC counter/free standing store or online

- Real Techniques Contour brush: This brush is the perfect size for my contour, it's so soft and not expensive. You will find this in the Core Collection in any Boots store or online

- MAC 213 brush: I want the proper one of this brush - this is one that I got in the Wonder Woman brush set when I first started getting MAC, and the brush bit has come off the handle so I really want to get the normal one as it is amazing for applying your crease colour. Can be found in any MAC counter/free standing store or online.

That's all my favourites for this month. Please let me know if you enjoy these posts.

All About MAC Lipstick Formula's

Hayya Lovely's. Today I thought it would be a good idea to do a post all about MAC lipstick Formulas. MAC lipsticks are my favorite but there is some formulas I'm not such a great fan of. I thought this might help some people that are not used to the MAC lipsticks.
MAC do 7 different formulas. I have tried all of them except for Frost as I don't like a frosty lip. I also have not tried Satin but I really want to.

Lets get into the formulas.

Lustre - A sheer glossy finish which is build-able. Luster lasts about 2-3 hours on my lips but can dry them out as they're not that mosturisting. I only own one lipstick that has this formula as it's not a formula that I like much. The one I have is from the Surf Baby collection that came out last year and it's called Naturally Eccentric (LE).
 Popular shade- Freckltone

Cremesheen - This Formula is one of the most popular ones. It's a medium coverage and it has a very creamy feel to it which does not dry out the lips. This formula lasts up to 5 hours on my lips. I have a few different creme sheen as I do really like them. I have Creme Cup which is a neutral pink, Innocence Beware (LE) which is a neutral peach/pink and I also have Brave Red which is a red.
Popular shade- Creme Cup

Amplified - My all-time favourite formula. So creamy and hydrating which are very pigmented so be careful, they do dry to a semi-matte finish . Lasts up to 6 hours on my lips. Most of my lipsticks are Amplified as I just always go for the formula as they feel the best and I think look the best on the lips. I have 5 lipsticks with the finish: Viva Glam Gaga 2 (LE) Brown/peach neutral, Saint Germain - a total barbie pink, Vegas Volt - one of my favorite lipsticks, it's a nice perfect coral. Impassioned - another one of my favorites, it's a bright pink and last but not least, Up The Amp - my new favorite lipstick, it's a purple one and I love it.
Popular shade's- Impashioned, Vegas Volt, Girl About Town, Up The Amp, Morange

Matte - My first lipstick was a Matte. I love the finish but it can really dry out the lips. It's very pigmented and creamy when applied. I only have one Matte finish lipstick and it's Candy Yum Yum (LE) But I love this colour and wear it all the time, it's a super duper bright pink.
Popular shade- Ruby Woo

Glaze - One I'm not a great fan of. Glaze is a sheer finish and is quite glossy, but also feels quite creamy. Only lasts about 2 hour on my lips. I don't have one on me right now as I need to re-purchase Hue. It's not that I don't like this formula as I love Hue, but Hue is the only one I really like out of the glaze formulas. Hue is sheer but it gives a nice everyday lip colour.
Popular shade- Hue

I hope this post helped some of you. My MAC lipstick giveaway has ended and I will announce the winner tonight on Twitter and Facebook, and make a blog post tomorrow.

Review- MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

Hayya Lovelys. Ok so last week I did my review on the MAC Studio Fix fluid, but today I'm doing a review on the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. MAC Studio Fix is one of the highest foundations out there and the same goes for this powder.

MAC Says
" Studio Fix is a powder and foundation in one that combines good coverage with ease of application. Designed to be used dry, the powder and pigments create a matte, velvety texture. It contains Silica, which helps to maintain a matte finish by absorbing oils on the skin, as well as Talc to provide a smoother, less reflective, matte finish. The talc has been milled to a microscopic size to provide a beautiful texture while allowing the skin to breathe. It is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a brush, sponge, or a powder puff."

Details
- £20.50
- Medium to full coverage
- 37 shades to choose from
- Available in all MAC cosmetics locations and online
- Can be applied many different ways

First thoughts
I love the packaging so much it looks very sleek and is small so you can carry around in your bag. This foundation is grate for over the top of studio fix fluid or another foundation to add a little more coverage. It looks grate on the skin not to drying ether. grate for oily skin as it dose absorbs oils. I use a Kabuki to apply this powder as it gives a nice even coverage.

What I Love
This foundation gives an amazing coverage. A lot of people think it gives a bit too much coverage to go over Studio Fix but I love the amount of coverage I get. It's available in so many shades that there has to be one that will suit everyone.  It's cheaper than the MSF Natural and I find that it's a lot better. I'm NC15 and it is perfect. It gives the perfect matte finish which is wonderful for oily skin (Would not recommend for dry skin)

What i dont like
It is quite expensive and it is not too great for dry skin.

Rating
I have to give this foundation/powder at A- just because it's a little bit expensive for a powder, but the coverage and texture is amazing.
When I run out, I will be re purchasing as it's the best powder I have ever tried!

PS- Sorry for the amount of MAC posts. I'm NOT sponsored by them, I just love the brand.

Remember there is only 2 days left to enter the MAC lipstick giveaway

My Last Spend For 100 Days - MAC Haul

Hayya Lovely's. Today I'm doing my last haul until the 21st of December because I'm on the 100 day spending ban. Last Wednesday, before my ban started, I placed an order with Debenhams for a few new MAC products. So before I get into my haul, just a little reminder that my MAC lipstick giveaway ends Friday at midnight!

I got most of the items on the Debenhams's 10% off sale so I could not pass them up.

Any way, let's get onto my order, shall we?
MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus £20.50 - I needed a new powder and wanted to give this ago.
MAC Lipstick Up The Amp £14 on sale for £12.60- Love purple lipsticks and was wanting this one
MAC Eyeshadow Pan In Coppering £10 reduced to £9- Beautiful colour for fall (look coming soon)

I think the two colour items will be wonderful for fall and that's why I decided to order them, keep an eye out for a fall tutorial/ FOTD.

Did you get anything from Debenhams 10% off sale? Bought any nice makeup lately?

Lips Of The Day- Up The Amp

Hayya Lovelys, Today I'm going to do my first ever Lips Of The Day post. I thought this would be quite fun as I love lipstick and I know a lot of you do too!
As you know, I LOVE purple lips so today I'm wearing my new lipstick Up The Amp from MAC.

On My Lips
Lipliner- MAC Magenta
Lipstick- Up The Amp from MAC

Magenta is a purple lipliner but can also look quite pink on the lips.
Up The Amp is purple as it's meant to be, but it does look quite dark in the tube which can be misleading as it is actually very wearable. MAC Up The Amp has my all time favourite formula  Amplified Creme, which means that it is quite hydrating and very very pigmented.

This lip combo could be worn at any time, night or day, and I think every skin-tone would suit it. So don't worry about it looking really bright or over-the-top as it can be muted down, or be made quite sheer when using a light hand. I got a lot of compliments when I put this on so I would definitely recommend it.

Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend.

Review- MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

Hayya Lovely's. This is another foundation review, as some of you know I'm a total foundation hoarder  Today's review is on my all time favorite foundation called MAC Studio Fix Fluid. I also have the powder called Studio Fix Plus Foundation which I will be doing a review on very soon.

MAC Says
"A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium-buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15. Comfortable and long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. Applies smoothly, builds coverage quickly and easily. Contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections. Absorbs and disperses oil. Contains special skin-conditioning ingredients. Oil free."

Details
Available- all MAC cosmetics are online
Price- £20.50 Not too bad. Perfect, actually
Coverage- Medium to full coverage
Consistency- Quite thick but easy to work with

First Thoughts
I can't actully remember what my first thoughts were as this is my 3rd bottle of this, so I guess I liked it a lot. I did stop using it for a whole year as I thought it looked too dark on my skin but I have now found a great way to apply it so it matches perfect. I use my hands to apply instead of a brush and it works wonders!

What I Love
This foundation has more of a thick texture to it which I really like. This foundation is amazing for oily skin, which I have, as it has a matte finish. The coverage is my fullest, so if you don't want a full coverage this foundation is really not for you. This foundation is best applied with your hands as it gives a more natural air brushed look and gives a nice even effect. NC15 is the perfect colour for my skin tone!

What I Do Not Like
This foundation has a painty type of smell which doesn't bother me, but I know it bothers some people. It also sets slightly darker if you apply it with a brush, that's why I like to use my hands as when applied this way NC15 is perfect, which I dont find much.

Rating
I have to give this foundation a A+ as I always seem to go back to it. I like it better now than ever before!

Have you tried this foundation or any other MAC foundation? If so let me know what you think

PS- Am not to great at taking pictures of myself haha

Nails On Saturday- OPI Purple With A Purpose

Hayya Lovelys, so its Saturday again so time for a NOTD. Today I have on Purple With A Purpose by OPI, This color is one i recently hauled. It's a beautiful mid toned purple which i think is a little multi-denominational.

The lighting really does not give this colour justice at all, its a lot more purple than it's showing up but I think that may be because I took this picture at 9 pm and everyone in the UK will know how dark it is here.
As you may be able to tell by now, my all time favorite colour is purple so that's why I tend to buy mostly purple nail polish but  I'm going to branch out and get more OPI in different colours so please let me know your favourite ones.

Have you tried this color? If not, I really think you should cheek it out in person as it's gorge!

Review- Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation

Hayya Lovely's, so after my last post I have had a lot of requests to do a review on the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation so that is what I'm doing today.

Benefit says
"Hello…it’s flawless time! Our new oil-free brightening liquid foundation builds from light to medium coverage for a natural complexion you can believe in. It’s you…just more luminous & healthy looking."

Hello Flawless Details
- Oil Free Formula
- Natural Finish
- Hydrating
-Available in 9 shades
- SPF 25

First Thoughts
The statement on the box is right. It gives a lovely healthy look to the skin but I would say its more medium to full coverage. This is one of my favorite foundations right now, I will go to this when i dont need super high coverage that my Laura Murser foundation gives. It is a little dark on my skin tone but I work with it and it looks fine. I also love the packaging, it's so cute! The formula is super watery which is one of the down side for me as I prefer to work with thicker foundations.

What I Love?
Benefit has really pulled this one off, their last foundation "Foundation Faker" I hated so thought I would not like this one too much but I really do like it a lot. The oil free formula is great as I do have oily skin so some foundations tend to slide off my face, this one does not. I love that it's natural looking on the skin so you can wear it through the day without having a caked finish. The foundation can be built from a medium to full coverage which I love.

What I Dont Like
I don't like the colour rage because I'm super pale so the foundation does not match too great which sucks. I also don't like that the foundation is so watery.

What do you think of this foundation?
